You don’t have to look hard to discover the beauty of Orange County—from sprawling beaches and rugged hiking trails to resort-like towns and pristine weather. Indoors, it’s just as easy to find stunning spaces in homes, hotels, and more that are crafted by talented O.C.-based designers. We caught up with six such creatives for a chat, and here’s what we learned.

YEARS IN BUSINESS: 22

SIGNATURE STYLE: “I gravitate toward bold contrasts, textures, and always inject a hint of antique charm in my designs.”

INSPIRATION: “I draw inspiration from exploring cities steeped in captivating architecture and rich artistic influences. And, of course, a scroll through Instagram never fails to spark creativity!”

FAVORITE PROJECT: “Our ‘Won’t You Be My Neighbor’ project is dear to my heart—infusing the space with a masculine edge, tailored to suit her sons, perfectly aligned with my design ethos.”

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY: “I believe in melding timeless classics with a contemporary flair, crafting spaces that echo individuality while pushing the boundaries of tradition.”

PET PEEVES: “Neglecting the design of ceilings, from careless placement of fixtures such as can lights and smoke detectors to speakers that disrupt the flow. Poor positioning of HVAC vents and return air grills, essential for both aesthetic and functionality. Rooms lacking comfort and practicality.”

BEST ADVICE RECEIVED: “Value your expertise; design is your profession, not just a hobby.”

ADVICE SHE’D GIVE: “Immerse yourself in your passion and pursue a comprehensive education in all facets of design.”
