The Face of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery
Recognized as one of the Top Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of Orange County by Orange Coast Magazine, Dr. Steven Miyamoto has decades of experience providing high-level care to oral surgery patients. Dr. Miyamoto combines sophisticated technology with the latest oral
surgery innovations to ensure your family's oral health is in the best of hands.
Dr. Miyamoto ensures patient satisfaction by providing personalized care for each individual undergoing oral surgery. He specializes in using growth factors and stem cells to expedite healing after surgery. He utilizes the patient's own stem cells to speed up healing after wisdom teeth removal – this has virtually eliminated the risk of dry socket over the last seven years.
He also uses stem cells in the treatment of osteonecrosis, which is a risk of slow healing caused by medications that treat osteoporosis. His practice also uses stem cells and growth factors to speed up healing in bone grafting to prepare for implants, treatment of facial injuries, and such state-of-the-art techniques as pinhole surgery.
A perfectionist, Dr. Miyamoto places all of his dental implants with computer guided planning techniques for more precise and successful surgeries. He specializes in full mouth reconstruction with implants through the “All on X” teeth replacement procedure. In over 27-years of placing dental implants, his long-term success rate is 99.9%.
Dr. Miyamoto is fully trained in general anesthesia and can perform these procedures comfortably and safely with sedation. He specializes in those with high dental anxiety. He is an inspector for the California State Board and helped write the licensure test for Dental Sedation Assistants. His staff is especially distinguished and fully licensed with the Dental Sedation Assistant Permit by the State Board, which only the best Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery assistants achieve.
Dr. Miyamoto sits on the Orange County Dental Society Board and has been the Membership Chairman for over 20 years, increasing the membership to become the largest dental society in the nation. His favorite trips involved going on medical missions to an orphanage in China, rural areas of Ensenada and Guatemala with dental students from UCLA and Loma Linda. He is also a Dodger fan and covered them for Oral Surgery emergencies during the 2020 championship playoffs as well as last year’s playoffs.
